Paul Woodfield

Role: Board Member

Institution: Auckland University of Technology

Country: New Zealand

Dr Paul Woodfield’s research interests include entrepreneurship and innovation, especially in the context of family business and traditional industries. Paul’s academic career came after spending time traversing the property industry in consulting, contractor, and engineering roles. Alongside his position at AUT, New Zealand, Paul is a researcher on the government funded Science for Technological Innovation research programme which explores ways to build New Zealand's innovation capacity.
Dr Woodfield has a specific interest in the wine industry stemming from his family winegrowing heritage; a family of innovators who were instrumental in commercialising the New Zealand wine industry. Paul attended his first IFERA conference in 2007 and won the IFERA and FBN-I research proposal award in 2009. He holds a Master of Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and a PhD in Management from the University of Auckland.
