Being ultimately passionate about family businesses, Rania developed a unique mix of academic and practical knowledge throughout extensive experience with leading international organizations specialized in family business education, networking, advising and research.
Along with a Ph.D. in Management Sciences from the University of Bordeaux, Rania holds the Family Firm Institute Certificates in Family Business and Family Wealth Advising.
Currently, she is the Director of the EDHEC Family Business Centre and Associate Professor at EDHEC Business School. She teaches and conducts research at the intersection of the fields of finance and family business. Her recent interests revolve around the role of family emotions in financial and entrepreneurial decisions. She was Director of the Financial and Wealth Management Master at the University of Bordeaux and Director of the Family Business Global EMBA at EDHEC Business School. She also served as academic expert of FBN International for 7 years at the Next Generation Committee level, in charge of programs content development and facilitation for international conferences and the support of strategic activities focused on education, research, networking, and entrepreneurial initiatives.
She is an active member of several organizations, including IFERA (Board Member), FFI (Programme Committee member), as well as FBIF, FBN France, Women in Family Business.. She serves as Editor of Entrepreneurship Research Journal.
Her 15 year teaching experience spreads across continents as visiting professor in China, Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, Morocco, Tunisia, USA, Brazil, Lebanon in the same line than her academic advising experience with organizations such as FBN France, Switzerland, Pacific Asia, Germany, North America, Colombia, India, Spain, Scone Project UK, NYCFEC USA and BFF Canada.
Author of academic papers, book chapters and professionally-oriented articles on family business, Rania received several international awards.
